Chillers
Want to find cool savings for your business?
In most large commercial facilities, the chiller system is the most power-hungry — and expensive — piece of equipment. It's no surprise that replacing an aging cooling system with a modern, energy efficient chiller is one of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make.
So whether you're considering a chiller upgrade for process or comfort cooling, advanced energy-saving technology like magnetic bearings and variable-speed drives, Evergy incentives and far lower operating and maintenance costs, high-performance chillers are the perfect fit for many large facilities.
Advantages
- Greater employee comfort and productivity
- Quieter system operation
- Simple system monitoring and control
- Ability to reinvest savings into future business initiatives
- Achieve sustainability goals
Which type of chiller is right for your business?
Although air-cooled chillers generally have lower initial costs and can be stored outside to save space, they are typically much less efficient than similar-sized water-cooled chillers. Water-cooled chillers are generally used in larger facilities and come in three different varieties:
- Centrifugal: often the most efficient and cost-effective option for larger machines.
- Screw-driven: highly effective for noise-sensitive areas but can be cost-prohibitive for larger capacities.
- Reciprocating: offers the lowest initial cost of water-cooled chillers but is less efficient and comes with higher maintenance costs.
