Construction & Upgrades

Decisions you make about your electrical service can affect your budget. Use resources to anticipate and control costs.

Supply Chain Update

Like energy providers and other industries nationwide, we're encountering supply chain constraints driven by a shortage of raw materials, high demand, and global labor issues. Availability of electric equipment and common line construction materials is limited. Based on our current supply chain situation, please prepare for project delays. We’re taking several steps to keep service reliable:

  1. We have reserved inventory for storms.
  2. We’re identifying alternative suppliers and placing orders with more lead time.
  3. We are prioritizing reliability work and external customer needs.

If you are planning a construction project, please contact us early on. Read our letter (PDF) for more details about the material shortage and the steps we are taking.

Standard manuals/meter sockets

The electric service standards manual is available to reference as you are planning your electric service construction and meter installation. It's important you obtain the standards from this website, so you are using the latest version. When the standards are updated, the latest version will be posted here.

In addition, you can also learn about our transmission facility connection requirements, which provide information on co-generation facilities and increased voltage requests, as well as our approved meter sockets lists for both residential and commercial construction.
